PARLAMENTOESCOLAR

Our last day starts at 08:00h in Jumpuru.  We are all loaded with our suitcases, as we are leaving from the school directly to the airport. Once at the school, we welcome each teacher who enters the school with flowers and sweets. Each one of them gives us a smile of gratitude and some nice words. In the second hour, we go to the school auditorium and the school parliament team shows us a video compilation of the great week we have spent with them. Also, their teachers and headmistresses dedicate us some affectionate words and give us a diploma. Although we already knew that goodbyes are sad, tears come to our eyes as we say goodbye to our friends from Jumpuru's parliament. It has been an incredible few days and we have forged bonds that go beyond friendship.  At 10:00 am we head to the airport and it seems that we have to wake up from the dream so real that we have lived.  And once the wheels of the plane touch Valencian soil, we return home, where our families are waiti...

 The next morning we meet at the school at 09:00h. Today we are going to help the students of the parliament to organize the chairs and tables, because today is "Mikeldienas market". "Mikeldienas market" is a market organized by the early years children. They sell their own decorated objects, food and sweets. The students of the upper grades buy what they like and enjoy a pleasant morning. We fiercely admire the autonomy shown by each of them and how much fun they have. Around 12:00h we go to the cultural center of the youth of the city of Jurmala. There we are attended by the person in responsible and she tells us which are the proposals that the cultural center has for the youth of the city. Also, she asks us for help to organize and design the different spaces they have. On Wednesday morning, we all meet at Jurmala beach  at 09:30 am. Today is a special day, as we take the train again, but this time to set off to visit Kemeri National Park.  Kemeri National Park is located at the west of the city of Jurmala and is the third largest national park in the country. The territory of the park is covered by forests and swamps. There are also several lakes and lagoons. The park protects a famous natural mineral that has been used for centuries due to its therapeutic nature. In the 19th century different attractions such as spas and sanatoriums were developed in this park. After visiting the park, we have a barbecue with our Latvian friends. After lunch in an idyllic place, we go to Jurmala city center by train and our friends from the Pumpuru parliament show us their favorite places.

Yesterday, we arrived after midnight at each of our Latvian homes. All the students welcomed us in their homes with a warm smile on their faces. Once we had breakfast and got ready, we set off to our destination school: Jurrmalas Pumpuru Vidusskola. When we arrived there we were greeted with a warm smile by the teachers in charge of the school parliament project, their students and the parliamentary leaders of Pumpuru school.  They have made a presentation in which they explain us what activities they carry out in their daily life and how they face and approach their parliamentary proposals.  A little later we went down to the school canteen, where we were offered a delicious meal. The truth is that we are shocked, because it is only 11:00 in the morning and the students of the center already have a copious meal. At that very moment we realize that we are immersed in a new culture and habits that will surprise us and provide us with knowledge that we still do not know. After 1...

  Today we have met all together at the airport of Valencia at 09:30h in the morning to go to our destination. First we will make a stopover in London-Stanted and then we will take the flight that will finally take us to Latvia. We are very excited and tired at the same time, as the stopover in London is 5 hours, but that will not prevent us to start building memories and anecdotes about our trip.

 Hello everyone! We are a group of nine children between 12 and 15 years old who are developing the School Parliament of our school, Nuestra Señora del Rosario -Dominicas Paterna-. Today we are going to Latvia together with two teachers from our school, Hugo and Tamara.
